Jean Claude Van Damme is a crocodile

  January 5, 2011

Jean-Claude Van Damme has turned from action star to crocodile in Kung Fu Panda 2.

Kung Fu Panda 2, directed by Jennifer Yuh features a wide variety of voices from the Hollywood elite to China’s top talent. Voiced by the likes of Angelina Jolie, Jackie Chan , Dustin Hoffman, Jack Black and Jean-Claude Van Damme to name a few, the sequel could be Dreamworks Animation’s biggest release this year.

Fans of the first movie will remember all too well the exciting character of Po, voiced by eccentric but highly comical Jack Black, and in the sequel he joins forces with a group of Kung Fu masters to take on an old adversary.

Jean Claude Van Damme Career

While Jean-Claude’s outing in Kung Fu Panda 2 is a huge shift from his usual acrobatics, fast action, and memorable one liners, the casting is an interesting choice.

Van Damme has a large fan base in Europe, particularly Belgium and France, where his movies have cult following. His films include «Legionnaire», «Universal Soldier», «Replicant» and «Maximum risk» to name a few.

He has also made camero appearances throughout his career such as in episode of friends, and playing himself in Schwarzenegger’s ‘Last Action Hero’, directed by John McTiernan.

Seth Rogan and Gary Oldman also voice the animation along with Lucy Lio and Michelle Yeoh. This cast is very exciting, and it looks like Kung Fu Panda 2 has a lot going for it. The film is set to be released in late Spring 2011.
