Van Damme not Snipes feeling the Havana Heat
14 December, 2010
Not surprisingly, considering he’ll be busy scrubbing cell bars with a nail filer, I’m hearing Wesley Snipes won’t be appearing in the recently-announced “Havana Heat” after all.
Jean-Claude Van Damme will however be in the film.
Not a bad switch!
Also starring Joey Lawrence (!) and Peta Wilson, Dean ‘Blonde & Blonder’ Hamilton’s actioner fixes on a couple of agents who head to Cuba on a murder investigation.
TimeCop 1.0 Van Damme is said to be playing “a supporting role” in the Radar Pictures production. His involvement will be limited because he’s said to be involved in Sly Stallone’s “Expendables” sequel, which will film a few weeks later.
“Havana Heat”, shooting first quarter next year, is executive produced by one Raul Julia-Levy. Yep, he’d be the son of the late Raul Julia, who worked with Jean-Claude Van Damme on 1992?s “Street Fighter”.
2011 looks to be a pretty solid year for Van Damme; in addition to this, he stars in and directs “The Eagle Path”, has a two-hander with Scott Adkins titled “Weapon”, is rumored to be playing a supporting role in the Joel Silver produced “Dragon Eyes”, and, as aforesaid, is supposed to be playing some sort of part in “The Expendables 2?.
