Van Damme in Double Impact sequel?
24 January, 2009
Jean-Claude Van Damme has said he would like to make sequels to Bloodsport and Double Impact.
The action hero, now 48, told The Guardian he would consider revisiting his former career - but on one condition.
"I am planning on making sequels to Bloodsport and Double Impact but the action films I will make in the future will be more believable and character-based. I am now on my second cycle of fame, and I want to make films that smell real and are truthful," he said.
The actor is appearing as himself in forthcoming film JCVD, which shows him as a washed-up action hero who struggles to find work.
But he said he is no longer the 'Muscles From Brussels' fans might expect.
He said: "When you see me in JCVD, the way I am in that film, it is very difficult for me to go back to doing three flips in the air and landing on the table saying, 'I'm Jean Claude van Damme'."
JCVD is out in cinemas on Friday January 30.
