LONDON, England (CNN) -- Hollywood action star Jean-Claude Van Damme is entering the fashion world with a line of eponymous denim clothing.

The "Muscles from Brussels" is in London where the Dammage7 line will go on sale at Harrods department store, in Knightsbridge, on Wednesday.

The karate-kicking star of Universal Soldier, Timecop and Streetfighter, told CNN that he was "very proud" of his new venture.

"It's a brand new line of jeans. What's nice about it is that we have a triple wash in the textile -- it's a brand new way of doing clothing," he said, sporting a Dammage7 jacket and baseball cap.

"It's going to be a great business. It's a very special, unusual line and I'm proud of it."

He said he has finished work on two films -- titled The Replicant and The Order -- which are due out later this year, and begins work on The Monk next in November.

His appearance in Harrods coincides with the start of the store's summer sale.

Van Damme said he was a close friend of Harrods owner Mohammed al-Fayed.

"He is a good friend of mine, since Gstaad many, many years ago, where we skied together," Van Damme said.

"He's a very, very wonderful man. You have to know him to understand him."
